Pagan Chants

Spiraling Into the Center

This chant seems to be very widely known - I learned it many years ago, and have heard it in a variety of different Pagan settings. It's generally used for raising energy (and it's an obvious choice to accompany a Spiral Dance).

I originally learned it as "Spiraling into the center, the center of our selves" and have since heard many other versions, like "the center of the wheel". I've also heard many variations on the rhythm, particularly during the second part. The authorship is unclear - one recording I have credits it to Shekhinah Mountainwater, but another credits it to Lorna Kohler. I'd be happy to get more definitive information.

It's recorded on Beverly Frederick's album Into the Arms of the Wild (**buy here**)

Spiraling into the center
The center of our soul
Spiraling into the center
The center of our soul
We are the weavers, we are the woven ones
We are the dreamers, we are the dream
We are the weavers, we are the woven ones
We are the dreamers, we are the dream

- Shekhinah Mountainwater or Lorna Kohler
